Brown Butter Creamy Apple Pie

I love to make apple pie. I think it is one of my favorite pies. I wanted something a little different and I found this recipe.

Crust: I cheat and use 1 Pillsbury pie crust

Filling:
* 1/4 cup butter
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1 egg
* 2 T. flour
* 1 t. vanilla
* 3 large Granny Smith apples (about 2lb) peeled, and cut into wedges.
(I like to use a red apple)

Heat oven 400,
Place crust in 9" glass pie plate as directed on box for one crust filled pie
Heat 1/4 cup butter over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted and lightly browned. Cool completely, about 15 min.

In small bowl, beat 1/2 cup sugar and the egg with whist until light and fluffy. Stir in 2 T flour and 1t vanilla. With whist, beat in cooled butter. Pour into crust-lined pie plate. Arrange apple wedges on top.

Streusel:
* 1/2 cup flour
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 1/4 cup brown sugar
* 3/4 t cinnamon
1/4 cup butter

In medium bowl, mix all streusel ingredients Except butter. Cut butter until mixture looks coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over apples, press lightly

Bake 20 minutes. Reduce oven temp to 350 bake 40-50 minutes longer or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
